SMS ST049 2007

Good judgement and behavior should guide our actions in most situations including on-job and off-job conduct. But because some people refuse to be guided by good judgement, rules and regulations have to be written to govern their behavior.

Alcohol or Controlled Substance Use

The possession of alcohol, narcotics and other drugs, or being under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or other drugs while on or coming from any SONOCO job site is strictly forbidden.

SONOCO WORK SITES/CUSTOMER JOB SITES AND ALL SONOCO EMPLOYEES ARE SUBJECT TO URINALYSIS TESTING AT ANY TIME. NO INDIVIDUAL WILL BE SINGLED OUT WITHOUT PROBABLE CAUSE. REFUSAL FOR TESTING IS GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION.

Smoking/Tobacco Use

Smoking is allowed only in designated areas. No smoking, dipping or chewing tobacco products while preparing or handling foods. Always wash hands after tobacco use.

Fighting/Horseplay

Neither fighting nor horseplay will be tolerated in ANY situation on SONOCO job sites.

Prohibited Items

Firearms, knives (with blades exceeding 2"), explosives or pyrotechnics (fireworks) of any kind are prohibited.

Search and Seizure

All SONOCO employees are subject to a search of person and personal property at departure point to and from a rig assignment and any time while on job site. SONOCO or SONOCO customer representative may conduct this search.

Prescription Drugs

Employees taking prescription drugs must notify their supervisor and/or company EMT/FIRST RESPONDER when coming aboard an operation. The drug must be in the original container with the doctor's name, drug's name, dosage and date prescribed on it.

Possession of weapons, alcohol, stimulants, depressants or any other "illegal drug" is grounds for immediate termination. Possession of any materials and/or food belonging to SONOCO or SONOCO customer without written release is grounds for termination.
