Safety is everyone’s business. If we realize and accept this truism as a fact, we will all recognize and follow correct safe work methods in order to prevent accidents.

The following list is of safe work methods to use in order to help prevent accidents while working in the living quarters and restrooms as housekeepers:

WHEN LIFTING

  1. Clear a path

  1. Bend at the knees

  1. Space your feet for good balance

  1. Check the load

  1. Get a firm grip

  1. Lift, exerting the lifting force with the strong leg muscles, not the weaker back muscles

  1. Hold your back straight

  1. Hold it close to the body
